The swinging RBQ-Plus is at the Little Dog this Thursday. Led by Bellingen saxophonist, Roger Burke, the RBQ-Plus explores the Hard Bop and Post-Bop jazz of the 1950s-60s, music made famous by Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Art Blakey, Charles Mingus, Hank Mobley and others. The band features Roger Burke on sax, Ash Hall on trumpet, Warwick Dunham on keys, Bruce Stephen on double bass and Cary Bennett on drums and vocals.

Music from Mesopotamia to the Tablelands - The Split Rock Maqam blends Ezidi and oriental folk traditions shaped by Kurdish, Turkish and Arabic influences. Farhan Almito is an Ezidi musician from Shingal Mountain, Iraq, now based in Armidale.
