Masonry, Manuscripts, Music: An inspirational journey through medieval England - Mark Cottle (UK) This lecture opens a window into the architecture, manuscript illumination and music of medieval England. Born on the Isles of Scilly, Mark has lectured at Exeter College on Medieval and Tudor history, St Mark's & St John's University College, Plymouth and at Bath University on Anglo Saxon and medieval England. Tea and sausages available from 11.30am. Songs of Travel The music this concert features Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel performed by Josiah Seaman accompanied by Robert Manley. Josiah is an emerging young Armidale singer who frequently performs as a soloist in the Presbyterian Church. Songs of Travel is a cycle of nine songs composed in 1901 by Vaughan Williams to texts by Robert Louis Stevenson. This is a good opportunity to hear Vaughan Williams’ first major vocal work.
