Matthew Ardern is a dynamic young Armidale-based pianist who has appeared as concerto soloist with the Wollongong Symphony Orchestra, Central Coast Symphony Orchestra and Armidale Symphony Orchestra. For this recital, Matthew presents a vibrant and contrasting program that includes works by Bach, Chopin’s dramatic Piano Sonata No. 2, Scriabin’s visionary Sonata No. 9, and a selection of Rachmaninoff Preludes. The program highlights the expressive depth, virtuosity and colour that define Matthew’s artistry as a performer.
