Baroque Curios

The music this Market Sunday Concert will include a selection of transcriptions and translations featuring Sarah Lawrence (narration); Alana Blackburn (recorders), Steve Thorneycroft (guitars).

Works by van Eyck, Baron, Weiss and Bach, arranged and transcribed by Steve. Narration woven throughout using original words and creative translation by Sarah of Seneca the Elder’s preface to the Controversiae, and an excerpt from Mahmoud Darwish’s poem ‘The second olive tree’.

This is a great opportunity to see and hear a new perspective on some comparatively little known repertoire performed by some of Armidale’s leading performers.
