New Recorder Quartet

The music this Market Sunday will feature four recorder quartets by Benjamin Thorn including a world premiere of a piece for four bass recorders, Four bass in a pond.  The other works will be Mirror, Through a glass darkly and Celtic Materials. They will be performed by Fiona MacDonald, Nikki Murcell, Benjamin Thorn and Lena Schmalz.

Benjamin Thorn has an international reputation as a composer for the recorder and this is a good opportunity to hear some of his music composed over the last twenty years performed by some of Armidale’s leading recorder players.
