7.55am for 8.00am departure from Visitor Information Centre, 82 Marsh Street. Bring food (morning tea/lunch), water, binoculars, sunscreen and hat, and wear stout shoes, bring a picnic chair as many bush spots do not have facilities. The scheduled visit may be changed or cancelled if conditions on the day are likely to affect the excursion. On the Wild Side: Filming creatures great and small: David Attenborough and the National Geographic - Pieter de Vries (Australia) Peter will share his techniques for capturing extraordinary images for David Attenborough and the National Geographic. Peter's films have won accolades including Emmys and BAFTAs. His work spans more than 180 countries and territories, filming for organizations like NASA and collaborating with director James Cameron on the exploration of the wreck of the Titanic. Doors open 5.30pm.

A Christmas Carol: a dramatic reading with music Featuring actors from the High Country Theatre and carols and seasonal music by the Armidale Choral Society. There will also be a full dress rehearsal on Saturday, 28 November for schools and groups with discounted tickets. These are fundraising events in support of Thread Shed Armidale, a not-for-profit group running textiles workshops, sewing lessons and social stitching groups to encourage community building and reduce our collective impact on the environment.
