Thunderbolts Festival is a captivating annual event first staged in 1998, and having undergone many changes over time, unites the community in a spirited celebration honouring the legacy of the legendary bushranger Captain Thunderbolt. Held on Saturday of the last full weekend in October, the festival kicks off with the Bush Poets Breakfast at the Bowlo 7:30am for 8am start, the street parade is at 10:30am and activities in Alma Park 11am-3pm. NECOM’s Homestead Series offers a rare chance to immerse yourself in a magical combination of fine chamber music and local history. As these homesteads are not open to the public, the series offers an exclusive glimpse into the architectural history of the area. Seating is limited so get in early to secure your tickets.
