Threlfall Track follows the route of the historic 1894 hydro-electric scheme, along old embankments and through ancient cuttings of granite. At Gara Gorge lookout high above Gara River, with a backdrop of majestic blackbutt and spotted gums, gaze across the rugged New England wilderness within the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park.
Walk length: 5.5km; Walk duration: Up to 2 hours; Walk grade: Grade 3 (suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and many steps).
