UNE Discovery: Pig Power Tower

Join us for a school holiday adventure at NERAM where art meets engineering!

Inspired by the story of the Three Little Pigs, children will build towers out of paper and straw and see how much piggy pressure and wind blowing their buildings can withstand before they topple!

You will get to: build a paper tower and see how much weight it can carry; engage with design by building a structure with straws; explore environmental factors in materials –  perfect for curious kids who love building and are keen to have a go!

Once the building challenge is complete, it’s time for an art adventure! Join NERAM’s Education Officer for a guided tour of The Neighbour at the Gate, where children will discover colourful artworks, hidden stories and creative ideas inspired by home, family, culture and belonging. Along the way, we’ll look closely, ask questions and explore how artists use art to share their experiences and connect with others.

Session 1: 10.30-11.45am; Session 2: 12.00-1.15pm
