Thunderbolt’s Festival

Festivals are about celebration, the gathering of people to revel in history, heritage, fun, food, music and community. They seamlessly transform a known place into an exciting festival space. Now in its 24th year, a community event ,Thunderbolts Festival 2023 promises a jam-packed program full of family entertainment, a fun day out in Uralla.

Theme: Dungeons and Dragons

10.30am – Fleet Warbirds street parade (travels along New England Highway and down to Alma Park. captain Thunderbolt, Classic cars, Oxley Riders, Hot Rods, antique machinery, fire engines, local schools and community groups.

Official Opening by Adam Marshall MP and Welcome to Country by Aunty Pam Meeham

Markets among the lovely shady trees and New England Antique Machinery Club display.

11.00am-3.30pm – Activities ($2 New England Solar, ACEN Australia wristband provides unlimited entry to. rock climb wall; giant inflatable slide; giant jumping castle; mini jumping castle.

Hemlock’s Danger Show – straight from the Outback of the Northern Territory! Helly Hoops, roving performer – circus, hula hoop, clowning and giant bubbles – will have children in awe! Hula hoop competition, cash prizes for last hula standing! NEMAS medieval arts display and spontaneous combat.  Photo booth (props provided). Uralla Central School, old-fashioned games.

Phoenix Foundry Stage: Entertainment by local band Chilli Jam & Friend, Four Book Trilogy, Ruby Rose Trio and others.

At dusk (7.30pm) the magical Lantern Parade (Hampden Park, Hill Street) by Uralla Arts will enchant you. An adventure not to be missed.
