Music from Mesopotamia to the Tablelands – The Split Rock Maqam blends Ezidi and oriental folk traditions shaped by Kurdish, Turkish and Arabic influences.
Farhan Almito is an Ezidi musician from Shingal Mountain, Iraq, now based in Armidale. Through his music, played on saz and oud, Farhan invites audiences on a journey into his homeland sharing stories of culture, identity, and a deep love for life.
Jack Cavanagh is lifelong student of percussion, having played in bands and orchestras and for stage shows. He has a passion for working out what works in music.
