Stargazing @ Constellations of the South

Mark the night of the winter solstice with two free space-themed events presented by Uralla Shire Council. A free shuttle bus will operate from 6.00pm between The Alternate Root and Constellations of the South.
Family Stargazing – 6.00-8.00pm @ Constellations of the South
Come along for a free family stargazing event at The Glen, located on Barleyfields Road, Uralla. On arrival, you will be greeted with hot drinks and music programmed by artificial intelligence. From there, with your mobile phone light to guide you, join a field of stars – stepping inside Constellations of the South, a collection of newly commissioned large-scale sculptures set on granite monoliths, representing constellations visible in Uralla’s night sky. Beneath the glittering canopy, get hands-on with giant telescopes, join a laser guided tour of the stars, and snap a selfie with the moon. Internationally renowned astronomer-at-large Professor Fred Watson AM will be on hand to answer your questions and help you ponder your place in the universe.
