Festival of Small Halls Autumn Tour

The Arcadia Theatre is an historic building in Guyra, New South Wales, that has been given a new life. Opened in 1929, the theatre once hosted films, boxing matches, and other events. Today, it is home to the Australian Poetry Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was established in 2020 and aims to preserve and celebrate Australian poetry and its poets. The venue now features a large auditorium for events, a bookshop, an art gallery, and a cafe. From Your Hosts: (and if this doesn’t capture your interest – nothing will!) Guyra is famous for lamb, potatoes, trout, ghosts and snow.
Festival of Small Halls will be rolling into Guyra with Tullara (AUS) and Joe H Henry (CAN).
Opening the show will be Richard Stanley! Raised in a musical household of eleven, music has been a lifelong companion for this Guyra-based composer and instrumentalist. Inspired by his brother Pete, part of the Sydney band scene, and his father’s poetry, Richard took up the guitar before the age of 15. After a career transition into Ecotourism, he has returned to his acoustic roots with a renewed creative focus. Richard’s current work blends a technical appreciation for the New England landscape with a deep fascination for ancient spiritual history. Now composing freely on both piano and guitar, he captures melodies that bridge the gap between the earthly and the ancient. He is a proud member of the creative community of the New England Tablelands.
