Errol Russell Sinfonia: “Summer Swoon”

Errol Russell Sinfonia is a project-based ensemble in association with NECOM, bringing together professional string players, alumni, and current high-level students from the Armidale community. Directed by Joanna Fairs-Wu, the ensemble upholds the legacy of the original New England Sinfonia, which was renamed in 2017 to honor the esteemed violin teacher Errol Russell, who dedicated many years to the community as both an exceptional educator and performer. Progamme includes Holst’s St Paul’s Suite and works by Telemann, Purcell, Svendsen and Sibelius.
Feature soloists: Alana Blackburn (recorder) and Robert Manley (recorder).
