Australian Premiére – ROLA (Stone)
5.30pm (drinks and nibbles), 6.00pm (film and panel discussion). Reservation must be made via website or QR code.
ROLA is the Anaiwan word for “stone”.
This film explores the inseparable connection between geology, landscapes and culture on Anaiwan Country (Northern Tablelands, NSW). All places have parallel narratives—the scientific and spiritual, that govern our relationship with them.
Woven together, these perspectives invite us to rethink the ways we understand the deep and recent past, present and future of the world around us. ROLA [Stone] has recently gained international recognition after it won a category in the inaugural 2022 Earth Futures Film Festival.
Directed by Dr Marissa Betts; filmed and edited by Mike Terry.
