Australia Day – Walcha

Celebrate with a relaxed, family-friendly morning in the park. Bring your family and friends and join the community in celebrating Australia Day in Walcha.

7.30am – Breakfast in the Park, served by local Walcha service clubs, featuring bacon, eggs, sausages, damper, tea and coffee. Cost: Breakfast $10 per person/$20 per family (cash only).

Enjoy live music by Peter Law, bush poetry from Gordon Edmonds, children’s art and craft activities, and a Quota raffle with a $100 Walcha shopping voucher to be won.

8.45am – Official Ceremony, including the raising of the Australian flag by the Walcha Fire Brigade, an address by Australia Day Ambassador Jane Rutter, and the presentation of Citizenship Awards. Jane Rutter is an internationally acclaimed Australian-French flautist, renowned for her expressive style and commitment to bringing music into communities across Australia.
