No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.
Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

On March 15 & 16, come see a spectacular array of gems, rocks, crystals, jewellery, crafts, beads, gifts and lapidary books/supplies/equipment available for purchase at the Armidale Showground. There will be something for everyone. Raffle tickets available ($1) with great prizes. BBQ breakfast and lunch/light refreshments (Lions Club) and a coffee van on-site.

The annual Armidale Campdraft is a three-day event with riders travelling from around the countryside to compete at this hotly contested event. Spectators will have the chance to see some of Australia's best riders in action as they compete in the 2025 competition. Campdrafting is uniquely Australian and it has grown in popularity immensely since its beginnings and is one of the largest equestrian disciplines in the country.

The Armidale & New England Show, formerly the Armidale & New England Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Association, is the longest running community-organized event in Armidale, with the first Show being held in 1876.
