Events in Armidale

No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.

Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

Travels with Mary – Stories from the Suitcases

The Mary White Saumarez Collection is made up of a newly discovered array of stunning art deco travel posters and original documents collected by Mary White throughout her voyages from 1939-1947 which were found inside a set of attaché cases, now on show for the first time. UNE Graduation – Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education Awards

UNE is pleased to announce the resumption of Graduation ceremonies. Invitations are currently going out to graduating students who have completed their degree since December 2021. It is especially exciting to also offer additional ceremonies to our alumni who had to sadly miss out on their 2019, 2020, or 2021 graduation ceremonies. In the event of wet weather, the ceremonies will be held in Campbell Hall at Sport UNE due to the damage Lazenby Hall sustained during the October storm.

5.30pm - Dinner at the Top Pub (23-27 Bridge Street). Dancing commences at 7.00pm. A great social night with dances by request. Dances requested so far are Bluebird, Serenade, Blue Wren Cha Cha, Animation Saunter, Shamrock Schottische, La Bomba, Fascination Waltz, Engagement Waltz, Trinity Waltz, Presentation Waltz, Firefly Tango, Emmerdale.

Breath Transformed: Riley Lee and Alana Blackburn

Breath Transformed: Grand Master Riley Lee (Shakuhachi) and Alana Blackburn (Recorders) will be performing works arranged for shakuhachi and recorder from the medieval period through to the 21st century, including a selection of works from Riley's new 3CD release of Hildegard music. Come, sit back, relax and clear your mind of any pressures. Allow the sweet, zen-like sounds take you to another moment in time.
