Homestead Series 3 – Ohio

Our final concert in the series blends the music of the High Baroque with readings from Mark Twain’s The Innocents Abroad. Enjoy Twain’s inimitable wit as he takes us on a Grand Tour through the cultural capitals of Europe. We host this concert at Ohio, one of the New England’s oldest homesteads, on the outskirts of Walcha.
Built in the early 1840s by Scottish farmer, Abraham Nivison and his wife Mary, who migrated from Drumfriesshire, Ohio is an excellent example of a Scottish-style stone house that has been sympathetically altered and extended over time. The house has a fascinating history and is now a private home owned by fifth generation descendants of Abraham and Mary.
ARTISTS: Sarah Adeney (voice), Leanne Roobol (voice), Robert Jackson (cello), Sheila Guymer (harpsichord)
